Center govt 5kg rice to continue, let state govt buy additional 5kg from state farmers - MP Surya
Instead of lying and spreading half truth about central govt of PM Narendra Modi, Karnataka Congress govt should procure food grains from Karnataka farmers urges Bengaluru MP Tejasvi Surya.
MP Surya sharing 5 points solutions, suggested CM Siddaramaiah in resovling state Congress govt's Anna Bhagya scheme issues.
1. Karnataka’s share of food grains under NFSA, i.e. 5 Kg per person will continue to be made available by Centre. Congress must stop lying that Union Govt is denying Karnataka it’s share of free food grains.
2. The objective of FCI restricting Open Market Sale Scheme to all states, excluding the NE, is to stabilise price fluctuations in the retail market. While 80 crore people get access to free grains under NFSA, 60 crore have to buy from retail market. There are more than 2.5 crore non NFSA people in Karnataka alone. Protecting their interests is also important duty of Union Government.
3. Also, the restriction is not state specific for Karnataka. All states, including BJP rules states, have to procure rice from open market if they intend to give food grains in addition to the 5 Kg given by Centre. UP, MP, Guj and Karnataka all placed on same basket.
4. Additional 5 Kg promised by Congress as part of their election promise can’t be fulfilled by Union Govt. Congress Govt is free to procure the same from Karnataka’s farmers and from retail market. They can’t expect Union Govt to subsidise their election promise.
5. We demand that Sri Siddaramaiah must procure additional rice from Karnataka’s farmers. It will benefit our paddy growers.
